Frequently Asked Questions
1. How much does it cost?
1+ $20 each, 12+ $15 each.
No hidden fees, no surprises. Just sharp knives at a fair price.
2. How long does it take?
If you drop your knives off before 12 PM, you’ll get them back the same day — guaranteed.
Drop-offs after 12 PM will usually be ready the next morning.
3. What knives do you sharpen?
We sharpen all kitchen knives — from chef’s knives and paring knives to santoku and utility blades.
We also handle pocket knives, filleting knives, and some outdoor knives.
If you’re unsure, just ask — we’ll let you know on the spot.
4. How should I prepare my knives for drop-off?
For everyone’s safety, please wrap your knives in a tea towel and secure them with a rubber band or string.
Make sure the blades are clean and dry — no food residue, please!
You can label your bundle with your name if dropping off multiple knives.
5. What’s your guarantee?
Every knife comes with our Razor-Sharp Guarantee — if you’re not completely happy with the sharpness, bring it back and we’ll re-sharpen it for free.
We aim for blades that glide through tomatoes and paper like butter.
6. Do I need to book ahead?
No booking needed.
Just drop off before 12 PM for same-day service, or anytime during open hours for next-day pickup.
For large orders (10+ knives), you can give us a quick heads-up so we can plan for it.
7. How often should I have my knives sharpened?
For most home cooks, every 1–3 months keeps knives performing at their best.
If you’re a professional chef or cook daily, you may want sharpening every few weeks.
8. Do you sharpen serrated or specialty knives?
Yes, we can sharpen many serrated and specialty knives by hand.
Some may take extra time or require special attention — we’ll let you know before we start.
9. Will sharpening damage my knives?
Not at all.
Professional sharpening removes only a tiny amount of steel — just enough to restore the edge.
Done right (like we do it!), sharpening actually extends the life of your knife.
10. What maintenance should I do between sharpenings?
To keep your knives sharper longer:
Use a wood or plastic cutting board (never glass or stone).
Avoid twisting or prying with the blade.
Lightly hone your knife with a honing steel every few uses.
Store safely — in a knife block, sheath, or on a magnetic strip.
When cutting starts to feel like work again, it’s time for another visit.
11. Do you fix chipped or damaged knives?
Yes — small chips or tip breaks can usually be repaired.
We’ll inspect your knife and let you know if it needs special care
12. Where are you located and how do I drop off?
We’re based in Corinda.
Just come by during business hours, wrap your knives in a tea towel, and drop them off before 12 PM for same-day sharpening.
We’ll contact you when they’re ready for pickup.
